"Well, that's what politicians do. Blame opponents when things go wrong and take credit when things go right," we blogged a couple of months back in this primary/caucus season of our discontent. Now that the Clintonoid "politics of personal destruction" is getting personal between frontrunning contenders on the left side of the aisle, while we weren't surprised, we did sit up and take notice when Hillary & Company sprung a bimbo-eruption shock-and-awe assault upon a brilliant young rising star. We speak of Samantha Power (above), a reflexively Bush-bashing gal we've blogged about here before and actually sat across from years ago at a student-apartment kitchen table during our Hahvah Design School days. A Kennedy School idealist, she was a wicked fun sparring partner then. Now her career has been short circuited following a moment of candor. She told The Scotsman "off the record" what everyone on our side of the aisle has known in our gut forever . . . that Hillary is a monster, and now she has been forced to resign. A few excerpts from our earlier post:
We googled one of Obama's foreign policy advisers we'd seen on Fox yesterday, Pulitzer Prizewinner Samantha Power of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, to try to divine her boss's "thinking" and found her otherwise thoughtful and helpful analysis of "Our War on Terror" -- published in the NYT at the end of July as the surge was starting to show positive results -- laced with reflexive anti-Bush sentiment. Even as she praises General Petraeus and the US Army/Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Field Manual, she can't bring herself to give the President credit for having chosen the General to carry out the surge.
Even so, Samantha Power is right about Hillary Rodham Clinton, lame "apologies" notwithstanding.
Update: "You made me 'cackle' a little, says blogpal HNAV (Hillary Needs a Vacation) in the comments:
Now, I think this little dust up was a positive.
Slowly, those on the left are losing their fear, or denial, over the Clintons.
Sure, there are thousands of mindless Clintonites, but for a Liberal like Ms. Power to accurately perceive Hillary Rodham, seems like some progress.
Even more, this article was heralded in Europa, a far away Universe, which has been greatly manipulated by the old CNN International that promoted the Clintons with enormous facade.
A high profile Democrat Liberal, speaking in terms like this about Ms. HRC, getting global coverage?
Happy days are here again?
