Sunrise over Eastern Point, York Harbor, Maine, day before yesterday: The summer solstice, when the sun reaches its northernmost point in our firmament (left in image).
"Not a shocker at all," writes Lightwave in the comments to our "Nikki Haley For the Win!" crossposted at Riehl World View, a fresh, insightful reading of the tea leaves:
The real story is that this should be a permanent end to all Liberal and Lamestream Media noise about the Tea Party being a racist, sexist, Caucasians-only movement too.
It's an AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Emphasis on American. Always has been. Now there's ironclad proof. The race and gender cards can't and won't work anymore.
The Dems are doomed as a party to irrelevance after just four years in power.
Nikki Haley's big win is a big win at Memeorandum this morning too, second among equals to the entrail-rich Inside-the-Beltway chatter about "Why McChrystal Has to Go." We're heading over there now to feast on the corpse.
Update: "The way for Haley to disarm the media and beat back the political attacks is, of course, to be at the top of her game," writes Jennifer Rubin in "Nikki Fever," another fresh, insightful analysis on this morning after:
She was endorsed and greatly aided by Sarah Palin, whose treatment by the media should serve as a warning. Beautiful conservative women are not treated well by the mainstream media. And Haley should keep in mind that liberals and their mainstream-media allies generally treat minorities who are conservative especially roughly. If they happen to be devout Christians, well then, they really need to watch out …
Although Chris Christie may be the un-Haley in outward appearance, his approach is the right one: be the happy warrior, apply conservative values, reject the entreaties to “get along” with the political establishment, and avoid even the appearance of impropriety.
Update II: Michelle Malkin "Buzzworthy" link. See also, for the sheer, cathartic joy of it, her Lead Story: Ken Salazar gets an ass-kickingl Over to you, Capitol Hill."

Let us hope that "Sunrise at the Harbor" heralds the dawn of a new day. We don't despise people because of their race or gender. However, unfortunately all people that I admire or despise do have both race and gender, neither of which is the cause of my feelings about them.

Willfully stupid people are my only negative bias!

Great to see...
Wonderful NEWS.
The Republicans have fine talent, and the Governors seem to be leading with strength, class, and sound policy.
Christie, Brewer, Jindal, etc., really are doing a very impressive job.
We need to empower the GOP this NOV., or we will suffer further in the USA.
Haley is a fine positive.

One can only hope you're correct.
My feeling is that if you are right, there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth as the paleo-left tries to figure out how to win elections and scare voters.

I don't mean to be contentious (well actually I DO mean to be) but as far out as the drilling is taking place, are they not out of the territorial waters that can be claimed by our country? I mean, does that officious troll in the White House even have authority over the waters in which these rigs are located?
