"This is a stunning vindication for the copy editors of the world," blogs Twitter buddy amba of Ambiance in a oner of a Mother's Day homage — womanage? — to her own mother that demonstrates the serendipitous and recursive potential of the Twitternet. She and we had been twittering back and forth about the proper placement of the apostrophe in Mother's Day:
PUNCTUATION MATTERS. Not only is it a form of musical scoring or choreographic notation, telling your inner voice and your thought when to flow and where to pause; it is also a tiny lever moving worlds of meaning, a focusing device directing your attention precisely where it belongs.
Unless your ear isn't tuned to the finer points of punctuation:
She: LOL. Fortunately or un "it's" will become official usage. 'Cause it matches other possessives. And we'll know when it's "it is."
And it is. So what is this thing called Twitter, this crazy thing called Twitter? Enquiring minds want to know. It's kinda hard to explain. You sorta have to be there. Check out this little tête à tête — tweet to tweet? — with blog pal Elisson, for a clue:
He: Writing a blogpost about — what else — Twitter! And now this is a tweet about blogging. How recursive is that?
We: Recursive. You mean like DAMN, DAMN, DAMN?
One thing leads to another. Recursion is where it's at.
Update: Twitter is "a perfect forum for witty people," blogs Elisson. Head on over to savor his concise, terse, pithy take.

Pith is fine; pith and vinegar, better.
