The magical tree is festooned in all its finery, floating in a firmament of twinkling lights over across the room from where we sit blogging, warmed by the glow of the electronic hearth. Getting a good photographic image was a little tricky, given the brightness of the daylight streaming through the window nearby. We solved the problem by shooting at night, mounting the Pentax Optio 450 on the tripod and switching on the self-timer mode. While dipping into the user's manual, we serendipitously learned how to use our new Remote Control F unit, the one we were about to return to Hunt's because we couldn't figure out how to get it to work.
"Becoming more and more yourself is the great reward of growing older," writes dear friend Jill of The Business of Life in wise and warm comments chock full of references to previous posts [With apologies to the inedible Sally Field: You READ me, you really READ me!], blessing us with an inspired suggestion for the Pope who loves cats and Mozart:
Staying home, inside and warm makes all the sense in the world when your very own nor'easter is headed your way. Glorious for a while anyway until the shoveling begins again for the 3rd time. Good thing your boots came in time. If Zefferelli gets rid of the Prada shoes, maybe you can send the Pope something from L.L. Bean. Don't his cats need something new to play with?
As we asked Jill, "Do you know his size?"
Electronics has made a new world of photography that gives instant magic to things which could only be described before.

I can just see that tree in your living room - how lovely. And yes we read you. LOL.

The tree is GORGEOUS! I believe I will be putting mine up tonight. Sam is too indolent to be a threat. He has discovered what my sister calls "the marshmallow sheets" and he likes them, he really really likes them. They are microfiber sheets Sis picked up at Costco last Christmas. Very soft. Very warm. Very toasty. Very much to Sam's liking.
