Tiny focuses the evil eye on her prey, a green superball she plucked out of her superball bowl just after breakfast this morning. Our royal blue, toasty warm L.L. Bean winter jacket hung on a chair (left) and green ties of Tuck's fab diningroom chair covers frame her fearful symmetry.
As our treasured fellow catblogger Susan of Mind of Mog wrote long ago, it's "time for some kitty pics cause they are so cute, no other reason."
It's notable how the prey -- whether superball or live mouse -- always brings out the classical feline body language. Above, Tiny hunches down in preparation for going in for the kill.
When we tossed the ball back in her direction, she did the playing-for-time batting-the-prey thing.
Finally she lunged, going for the jugular.
Where does one purchase the superballs that your feline companions seem to enjoy so much? And by the way, Tiny is looking quite snuggle-worthy in these pics! I've always loved the dichotomy of cats - on one hand they are STILL predators but on the other, they are the most delightful and cuddly housemates and friends - all the while being gorgeous to watch!

Gayle: All of Tiny's superballs come from the streets of Chelsea, where I've found them during walks. Probably available in toy stores. :-)

After reading about Tiny's health problems last year, I'm glad to see she's doing well now. Gayle Miller's comment about the two sides of Cat puts it well about these cute killers. A cat can be curled up in your lap, seemingly oblivious to the rest of the world, but if potential prey comes near, immediately the pupils dilate and they are ready to pounce.

That looks like so much fun. I'm going to get a Valentine's Day Superball.
