Why don't they leave us alone? From Elian Gonzalez's mom on down, we've never understood the Coast Guard's taking-at-sea thing. It's the same old, same old that dare not speak its name, of course. The illegal aliens are traveling only one way from Cuba. 'Wonder why.
Cats, too, are traveling only one way: to Tuck's lap. Baby (above on Tuck's lap during lunch) deigns to sit on our lap only when we're under way in the Chevy Blazer, but Tiny never ever sits there. Their protocols are beyond our ken.
They have to take the boats at sea... If the people on the boat can set just one foot on land, they get asylum, or at least a very protracted deportation process.

Yes, it is a most intriguing thing. The Press and Hollywood keep telling us what a lousy country we are - how awful and provincial the people are here. Yet, it seems like so many people are just dying to get in. I can't understand it.
