Tuck trips the light fantastic during defrocking ceremonies of the awesome Christmas tree the other night. An imail conversation this evening sheds light on the proceedings:
She: Are you working on a new post?
We: Working on some pictures, pictures.
She: New ones?
We: Yes. Tree undecorating ones.
She: Melancholy or "YES!!!!!" ?
We: Yes!!!!!
She: Good. I'm sure the cats showed their usual interest in the boxes.
We: Tuck sporting the lights . . . Baby attacking one of the felt ornaments with tooth and claw . . .
She: Will you save the lights, then pitch them next year, and buy new ones?
We: Yes. Any that don't light up when I plug them in are out of here.
She: Natch. We don't have any time for the "three strikes and you're out" rule.
Where we see people taking down ornaments at the end of the Christmas season, cats see playing opportunities [They always do]. We taunted the Babe with one of our hand-sewn felt bunnies.
Following the feline imperative that is his birthright, Baby goes for the jugular. Do felt ornaments have jugulars? Do cats dream of electric felt rabbits?
Fabulous picture of the Babe going for the jugular.

I don't know if cats dream of electric felt rabbits but if they do Baby with the purple eyes will be in it.

I like the picture of Tuck VERY much, and especially of the one of Baby really trying to eat the rabbit's head. The look he gives is very wild.

Brilliant Philip K. Dick reference, Sissy. I just fell in love with you all over again...

Go get it Babe... LOL.
One of the prime reasons I don't like putting Christmas decorations up - the fact that I have to take them down again. Makes me tired thinking about it. But I will do more next year.

You beat me Sissy. The ornaments are off the tree or trees but the trees aren't down. I just went down to the den and my daughter had taken the top off of the tree but didn't know how to take the rest apart because it has lights on it that came with it. I didn't know what to tell her because my great son-in-law always puts that tree up. Well, I say always, he has put it up for the past two years.

Vicious carnivore in the house to be sure - the hapless felt bunny would have had better odds against a velociraptor...
