Daisy's tail caught fire from the candles on Susie's triple birthday table, but honorary fireman Matthew the Great grasped the base of her tail, pulled it up and put out the fire with his hand as the rest of us looked on, transfixed.
"34 years ago, this night, the nurse brought a bundle to me," writes our sis of the arrival of her first born, our nephew and godson, the Professor (left, above, with his beloved, Regan, at birthday festivities this evening).
"Oh, but that night, Sis, when flesh of my flesh was brought to me. The Tiny One. The room was very dark and dim, and the nurse brought the baby in. I had no idea how to nurse, and sadly, neither did the nurse, so, Matt and I just muddled through."
