You are right. Darwin did not deny God but he did have a sound theory of how natural selection leads to survival of the various species of living creatures and of all living matter. I believe he would have been appalled at the idea that the human mind is a blank slate that can be programmed to refute nature and natural selection.

I believe the poster cited meant "a purely descriptive theory, not prescriptive..." rather than "proscriptive."
