Our fundraising team -- Army -- has pulled ahead of Navy in the blogosphere's friendly competition among Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines to raise funds for the Soldiers' Angels' Valour-IT (Voice-Activated Laptops for OUR Injured Troops) in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, blogged here and here.
We loved the humor and poetry of Sgt. Hook's one-picture-is-worth a thousand-words comment, a black-and-white photo of a sinking WWI ship.
But we're not there yet. Each team is aiming to raise $21,000 by the end of this Friday, November 11, Veterans Day. Navy had an early lead, but as of this posting Army -- led by Blackfive -- has raised $16,180 and counting, to Navy's $14,536. In desperation, Navy team leader Citizen Smash of The Indepundit has resorted to offering his "most precious treasure of all," his wife, to anyone who will donate $25 on behalf of Navy. Tempting, but we're solidly behind Army. Pick your branch, loosen your purse and click here or on the "Make a Donation" button above to put your money where those voice-activated laptops are.
