"Mmm, yum yum, tuna flavored Jezi," goes the caption of this kitty washathon (detail), part of Mind of Mog's day-in-the-life post that had us laughing out loud with species recognition the other day.
You've heard of comfort food, the kind you go for when life presses in and only something simple, hale and hearty will do. Now, there's comfort blogging. We noticed it first the other day when one of Mind of Mog's superbly photo-illustrated catblogging narratives got us LOL:
Was reading my junk mail and this one advert for the mag, Real Simple, caught my eye cause simple, clean, uncluttered, uncatted sounds so nice. Well, maybe not totally uncatted. So I checked this insert on cleaning tips, oh quick simple 19 minutes to clean the house. Whoever wrote this obviously doesn’t have cats. I quote a few:
[Real Simple] Pick up crumbs and dust bunnies with a handheld vacuum. (1 minute)
[Real Life] Attempt to figure out how to get the vac apart to take out the cat hair that has clogged it causing it to overheat. (2 hours)
Then we caught Donna B. of Pajamas Pundits blogging this morning about something we'd had in the back of our mind of late, disaster-relief blogging fatigue:
Hugh [Hewitt] may be a bit mistaken -- it's not unwillingness to give, to dig deep even. Blogging about more death and devastation is beyond me now.
Allow me to give without blogging about it, just this once.
Now Will Collier of VodkaPundit renders unto us the perfect comfort post, wherein he effortlessly combines food tips and wisdom and hope for the ages in a simple, elegant presentation that sticks to the ribs, even as they are jiggling with laughter:
This is tonight's dinner; I'll cheat and list the links I ripped off the recipes from, but note my alterations . . .
We eat in ten minutes, with Spanish rice, beer, and homemade salsa. Like beer, tomatillos are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
Thank you from the bottom of our heart, fellow bloggers, for soothing the febrile blogging breast with your generous doses of laughter, "the best medicine."

As if sitting for too many hours at the computer wasn't adding to my waistline anyway, the blogosphere is a major source of caloric inspiration.
After making Snickerdoodles and a good night's sleep, I feel much better but still not up to disaster relief blogging.

Now if only Natalee Holloway case reporting fatigue would set in at FoxNews. Glad you enjoyed the post and you sure made my kitties look good. I love your photoediting. Yours is one of my fave blogs even if I don't comment much.
