Baby (foreground) and Tiny (just above the Babe's left ear, background) are with Australian Prime Minister John Howard -- big time -- on the War on Terror, better known amongst the denizens of field and forest as the Relentless Drive to Continue the Bloodline. Howard won the hearts and minds of not only the animal and plant communities but also the entire right side of the blogosphere the other day with his rousing Churchillian response to a clueless "reporter's" insinuation that the recent London terrorist attacks were "caused" by Tony Blair's embrace of "Bush's war" in Iraq: "Once a country allows its foreign policy to be determined by terrorism, it's given the game away, to use the vernacular." (Trey Jackson has the must-see/hear video.)
"Unfortunately many people fail to realize (or remember) that terror is targeting the human civilization without discrimination, and although some attacks may seem connected with specific conflicts, the reality remains that terror is waging a full scale war against our way of living whether we're actually living it or dreaming of it or in a broader way; any other way of living that doesn't match their vision," writes Omar of Iraq the Model, an oh-so-refreshing voice of common sense amidst the cacaphony of willful nonsense that continues to spew from the Western-Civ-hating left in the wake of the recent terrorist atrocities in London and now the Egyptian Red Sea resort Sharm El-Sheik:
Apparently, we're facing the terrorists' version of globalization where every democracy is heresy and every man or woman smoking, playing soccer or not wearing hijab or a beard is infidel. They want their dark culture to dominate the world, and they know that the only they can do that is by destroying every other culture they don't agree with.
The threat is spreading and maybe faster than we were expecting, and at this moment any appeasement or compromising with the terrorists will only give them the chance to grow more dangerous and gain more bargaining power.
On the other hand I do believe that these waves of attacks in Egypt and London as well as Al-Qaeda's threat to Europe prove that their plans in Iraq are not working out.
But even as the terrorists thrash ineffectually in their final agony, their unwitting enablers on the left keep trying to revive the corpse. As Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs wrote yesterday "The [Mainstream] Media Are the Enemy. Apparently, Newsweek’s phony Koran-in-a-commode story is partly to blame for the London bombings: Militant longed for suicide mission":
“He knew that excesses are being done to Muslims. Incidents like desecration of the Koran have always been in his mind,” [one of the July 7 London bombers, Shehzad] Saleem said, referring to US guards at Guantanamo allegedly throwing a copy of Islam’s holy book in a toilet.
Dr. Sanity -- dripping with contempt and irony [she's beautiful when she's angry] -- offers a typical example of the media as enemy from the nation's "Paper of Record" this morning, which delights in "informing" us -- front page, above the fold -- that "Despite months of assurances that their forces were on the wane, the guerrillas and terrorists battling the American-backed enterprise here appear to be growing more violent, more resilient and more sophisticated than ever:
"Isn't that marvelous? They are, of course, talking about the terrorists in Iraq and how resourceful and determined they are. Clearly they believe we should just give up and go home in the face of such resourcefulness, determination, and sassiness! . . . The MSM knows it can win this war; that it has the ultimate power, and that that power is psychological, not military.
"Of course, they think they do it out of 'good' motives; because they are caring and compassionate people . . . The Islamofascists think they do it because they are stupid and weak," notes Dr. Sanity. It's Osama's strong horse/weak horse parable galloping across the world stage.
It is not hard to understand that so-called liberals of the MSM believe that they can solve the problems caused by the Islamofascists . Everyone has to believe in something, and our liberals believe in the malleability of human nature and the noble savage. With their superior knowledge they are sure that they can replace Allah with secular humanism. Thanks to members of the Cotillion such as Sisu and Dr. Sanity, the voice of reason and the record of human history are still to be heard.
