Thanks for the in-depth look at Lebanon and Syria as well as the history of the rail service. We have driven to the summit of Mt. Washington and seen the cog railway arrive but never had the pleasure of the ride itself.

We once took the Cog Railway -- Cinny and Freddy and Tuck and I -- to the top, reading in our tour planning of the times the thing had fallen off the trestle and taken its occupants to an early grave. Everything became coated with soot. Quite an adventure!

A 19th Century experience.
