"I really miss The TTLB Blogosphere Ecosystem," writes Barry Johnson of The Royal Flush:
Much of my blogging day is spent deciphering the rise and fall of my blogs within the Ecosystem (sigh). I shall rejoice and dance in the streets upon its return.
Exactly the way we feel. We hadn't realized before that the proprietor of the Ecosystem had disabled several functions the other day in his "ongoing quest to find and swat the performance bugs around these parts." Naturally, we had assumed he singled us out for function disablement because of our constant grousing -- as our sis says, "always about me and my show." In a sensible comment to our latest grousing post, reader David L. tried to calm us down:
The Ecosystem is a nice amusement. Call it a public service, a blog nuisance, but don't let it get under your skin. If you don't like the Ecosystem, don't partake of it. Your choice.
The trouble is that once it's under your skin, it's no longer a choice.

Quite honestly, I am so impressed with NZ Bear for keeping the ecosystem going. It's a humongous job, especially with all of the new blogs joining up all the time. And he does this in addition to the rest of the stuff in his life... it's awesome of him!
The worst part of any type of programming is finding the bugs. They can be nearly impossible to spot and it's not unusual to look for quite a long time before being able to figure out how to change things. Not only to make it work better, but also to avoid breaking something else. Then he also has to contend with the wankers that try to break into the system and mess with it.
Yeah, on the whole, I've got to say that NZ Bear just impresses the hell out of me. And I hope he's not going crazy trying to fix the ecosystem code.

I'm learning from geeky readers not unlike yourself that I've been expecting godliness from the NZB. He is, after all, only ursine. :)

LOL - well if you've never tried to code anything, you would have a hard time understanding the magnitude of his little project.
Thus, while I'm quite happy to earn my living using my computer and I enjoy blogging and all that - I have no great wish to get involved in such time consuming projects... fun as they might be. *grin* And for those who do - they have my eternal admiration.
