"The Full Sap Moon [with Mystic Bridge in background and salt piles of Eastern Minerals in foreground] marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation," says the Farmer's Almanac about this many-named March moon that caught our eye in the southwestern sky early morning. Other names all refer to the end of winter and early signs of spring: Worm, Crow, Crust, Lenten. Awake, thou wintry earth -- Fling off thy sadness!
'Reminds us of something we read over at A Goy and his Blog the other day that brought sentimental tears to these ever skeptical eyes:
The Captain says he’s praying, and that prayer’s probably all that’s left. Well I have one wish and prayer for this year’s first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the vernal equinox. Call it blasphemy if you like, but it’s my wish regardless, and that is that Terri will slip peacefully into a true coma tomorrow at 3pm EST. And on Sunday I pray that she opens her eyes, sits up in bed, rolls back the curtain, and asks for a Big Mac, large order of fries and an orange soda with lots of ice.
Thanks for the link and the sweet comment, Sissy. Sometimes I think the sap(piness) that tempers our skepticism makes us more human. ;-)
Now I have to go kick off some random music via WinAMP so I can get "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" (one of my very favorites - you knew, right??) out of my head and get some work done.
