The morning after never looked so good (we haven't really faced the kitchen yet). Check out classic cocktail "W 2000" glass on gold place plate upper left. 'Wonder how much you could get for those -- we have an original set of four -- on eBay? Not that we would ever dream of parting with them.
A swell party was had by all. Beef Strogie Sisu (recipe to come), Candied Carrots, Pureed Christmas Peas, the Mighty Caesar and some astonishing Peanut-Butter-Infused Brownies. We finally got to give B&E their belated Christmas books (thanks a lot, Amazon, for all those post-Chrismas deliveries, although at least it gave us a nice excuse to have the relatives down), and Ellen presented an enchanting hostess gift, hors d'oeuvres we ate on the spot, wrapped up in a beautiful valentine-themed dish towel.
Lots of family gossip and talk of Governor DUMBER's proposed name change, angry letters and peaceful demos. Then on to blogging, boat sales and such. It was a good thing.
