Tiny and SpongeBob have their own agendas -- Tiny's is "When's supper," while SpongeBob's is "Why did you eat my boots, Mr. Krabs?" Both were there this afternoon at the moment -- after a day of getting everything wrong and backtracking at every turn -- we brought home the correct hardware and successfully installed iomega's HotBurnPro software for our new CD burner.
We've been out of the loop most of the day (Which day? Only one? --ed) setting up the Christmas burner for archiving digital photographs. The one we wanted was a CD burner, but the one we got (our fault for not paying attention) was a DVD burner, together with the DVDs themselves. Spent the morning setting up the DVD burner and realizing it was all wrong. After we had made the appropriate exchanges this afternoon -- which Staples made easy and businesslike -- and returned home, a moment of panic when everything froze up. True to type, we switched into melodramatic mode -- wiping our brow and sighing -- thinking it was all over (get hysterical now, wash paw later). Breathed deeply. Did a few household chores. Went back and rebooted (the full Monty, where you shut it down, wait a few moments and then restart). Everything up to snuff again. Phew.
Sounds traumatic indeed!
