Ba dah dah, ba dah dah . . . "Baroque and Blue," the opening strains of this long-lost LP record from our salad days still echo in our mind (Album long gone, but we found the image and sound clip at Amazon). "Suite for flute and jazz piano trio" (Was it good for you, too?). That opening number -- our favorite -- is Mozartian in the Soliari sense of "too many notes" and the transcendent sense of a musical equivalent of shimmering light.
Michele invites her fans to "help me with a near-future blog post. Your dream come true, I know . . . Simply, I'd like to know -- for all you who actually have held a real, live album in your hands:
Your favorite album art [above]
Album art you hate(d) for whatever reason [below -- didn't really hate, but could anything be more staged?]
Any really strange album covers you know about (and most of us have seen this link already)Enough responses, and I'll include a poll with the future post.
This little baby is still around (came across it while looking for the "Suite for Flute" album). We used to play this stuff -- mixed in with Michael Jackson and Madonna and such -- at our Christmas parties. Hey, Michele, do we get extra points for the Radio Shack price tag (upper left above)?
Hadn't held a real, live album in our hands for years till we went rifling through the few stragglers still left in our collection for this post. Thank you so much, dearest Michele, for distracting us from 1. The weight of the world and 2. The ongoing frustration of not being able to upload images from our digital camera -- new card reader didn't do the trick (tears hair and goes limp).
