Daisy contemplates the -- what is it? -- Fisherman's Platter? Shore Dinner? Shellfish Delight?
Best birthday dinner ever. The menu was a pussycat's dream -- fried clams with tartar sauce for doibs, then velvety clam chowder followed by lobster rolls and cole slaw. Pickles -- whoops, we forgot -- and potato chips on the side. And when we say lobster rolls, there's no filler . . . straight lobster tails with mayo on grilled Wonder (builds bodies 12 ways) hot dog rolls. Then some sort of fabulous Cappuccino Silk Pie ("We start with a rich, buttery chocolate shortbread cookie crust that's a dessert in itself") from the local Alden Merrell, who started making cheesecake in their garage a couple of decades back and then went international.

What a swell party that was. Just the right amount of family gossip and political discourse -- did you say dissension? No, I didn't think you did.
Now back home, we're i-mailing with our lovely hostess, mother of our nephews, who says "What a treat to have you here today!!! ESPECIALLY with the married husband as a guest speaker. Almost as good as i-mailing with you."
Sounds like what Sisu the leader of "Sissy's Sewing Circle" deserves. It is wonderful to have children who love each other all of their lives.

Sounds lovely, I'm drooling at the food. A belated birthday wish, mind is still fuzzy here.

Now it's all I want to eat all the time. Am thinking of doing a repeat of the fried-clam doib for Christmas. Thanks for birthday wish. Never too late. :)
