Photoshop fantasy montage of GW as Winston S. Churchill (Yousuff Karsh photo December 1941)
"A blogburst where bloggers will channel their favorite characters of TV, movies, and fiction showing their support for President Bush's re-election" has been announced by N.Z. Bear, proprietor of The Truth Laid Bear, "because heroes inspire us, and fantasy shows us what we wish could become reality. And because Joss Whedon started it. And because we can." We offer herewith the words of one of our own big-time heroes, Winston Churchill -- TV, movies, and fiction? Those are the venues through which we've come to know him -- as channeled through GW:
Osama and the state sponsors of terror know that they will have to break us in Iraq or lose the war. If we can stand up to them, all the world may be free, and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age, made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science [read WMDs]. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the Coalition of the Willing last for a thousand years, men will say, This was their finest hour."
Well said! Let us all strive to that goal.
