"Hans Blix, the former chief weapons inspector for the United Nations, has agreed to serve as chief monitor of U.S. elections on behalf of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE); however, Mr. Blix said he needs more time to do the job right," reports ScrappleFace:
"November is just around the corner," said Mr. Blix. "My European team will need much more time than that to be ready. We'll need six-to-nine months just to discover if there are, in fact, elections in the United States."
We were horrified to hear of and never prepared for the Administration's approval of this policy. We hate being jerked around, Mr. President.
Update: 'Loved La Shawn Barber's take:
President Bush, via Colin Powell, is giving in to the demands of a raving bunch of . . . to allow foreigners to "monitor' Americans and how we run our free electoral process? I will not be subjected to "monitoring" by any foreigners, some of whom might even come from terrorist countries! The monitors will be confined to Florida only? So what. My protest is still valid on principle.
Thanks, Jimmie. The link to your blog didn't work (possible misspelling of Taylor as "Tayler"?
