It reads as if these new frontiersmen will cross some of the liberal desert.

Are you kidding me? Terrorists = Bad, America = Good? I love the way people interpret films to fit their beliefs.

Trey and Matt didn't take sides one way or the other. The whole point of the film is to point out the absurdidty of both sides.

Maybe you should watch it again.

Well, at the time I wrote this post, the film had not been released. Now, however, having seen "Team America," I realize that my fondest hopes were realized. Trey and Matt take no prisoners, but guess who's left standing when it's all over?

"but guess who's left standing when it's all over?"

By having 'Team America' still standing at the end, they were making a mockery of Jerry Bruckheimer films, not supporting (or opposing) U.S. foreign policy.

And by all means, I'm not attacking you. I'm just sick of both conservatives and liberals saying that this film stands up for their side when it does niether.

A point well made, sid, and I appreciate your civility big time. Thank you. But even so, in my Darwinian heart I know that while it may be wishful thinking, "Team America" has to win if the better angels of our nature are to win. Collateral damage is a horrific thing, but when we're talking about nature -- including human nature -- red in tooth and claw, it's going to happen no matter what we do. The Islamicists want us dead, plain and simple, and they want to impose a medieval, woman-oppressing regime on the world. There's no way I'm going to sit down at the negotiating table with such folk.
