The Koran made me do it, AllahCould anything be lamer in this day and age than men out to blame women for all the ills of the world? We know: The Christian Bible says something to the same effect, but this great Christian nation of ours has pretty much gotten over it.
In our own case, we have an ongoing problem with every organized religion that ever came down the pike, but no matter. This from Dhimmi Watch:
What's to prevent this when the Qur'an tells men to beat their wives? "Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them" (Sura 4:34). At least this guy is in danger of prosecution (we'll see about that), but how many other cases like this that have gone unreported and unnoticed?
From little girlhood, as the younger sister of a now totally adored older brother, we recognized a double standard. Then came the marxoid feminazi-ism of the seventies, when our own deeply held feminist ideals were appropriated by an alien force. As our beloved husband says, any country whose national policy precludes productivity from half of its citizens is on a losing track.
I think that it is in the genes for men to want to be the leader and the defender of the tribe. Under tyrannical rule an escape for their frustration is abusing women and some societies encourage this behavior as it makes it easier to control the men.In a democracy some progress is made in curbing this abuse and establishing protection for women and seeing that they have equal rights.
