"Most of Google's revenue comes from small text ads that Google sells on its own site, as well as the Web pages of other companies," we quoted The Wall Street Journal's Google IPO article in our last post. "Advertisers bid for the right to have ads appear each time a user searches for certain keywords or those words appear on the Web site of a Google partner." To illustrate the concept, consider this recent post from Esoteric*Diatribe, the dauntless blogger who mobilized bloggers like ourselves to join a google-bombing effort that rendered John Kerry's official website as the number one Google listing when one types in "waffles":
Now here is MoveOn.org, that self-described "grassroots" group stealthily funded by the world's Number One Bush Basher, billionaire George Soros, taking advantage of the market forces it is constitutionally opposed to. We say, may the best man win!
