"Prestigious American textbook publishers such as Prentice-Hall, Simon and Schuster, TCI and others are educating your child to the 'Arab point of view' and its aspirations of world domination," writes Lee Kaplan at Front Page:
Militant Islamists in the United States and their allies have set their sights on our American children. They seek to provide an education similar to that taught in the controlled regimes of the Arab world. So far, American textbook suppliers are more than willing to accommodate them . . .
Sections concerning Islam in books distributed by the main U.S. publishers/providers have been sanitized. In general, current or past events about Islam are not reported accurately for the sake of “political correctness.” Arab and Palestinian political goals are also strongly promoted.

But it isn't a case of dhimmitude per se. The textbook companies take the path of least resistance, responding to the squeakiest wheels. As FOXNews reported last year:
A textbook review process taking place in states across the country has changed or eliminated references to everything from the Founding Fathers to hot dogs, leaving many to charge educators with distorting history in the name of political correctness . . .
The Founding Fathers, for instance, are now referred to as "The Framers," in an apparent effort to make them sound less male-dominant, [while] many textbooks will no longer feature pictures of hot dogs, sodas, cakes, butter and other kinds of food that are not considered nutritious . . .
The changes, which reflect a wide range of political correctness, have been brought about by pressure groups on both sides of the political aisle, as both Democratic and Republican legislators have been lobbied.
