Spring is in the air:
The Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum), earliest of the maples to bloom, is in full flower -- red (female) and green (male) spots of color behind Baby in left photo above.
Baby himself, suddenly overflowing with animal spirits, runs frenziedly up the tree, strikes a few dramatic poses, then switches to casual mode and climbs nonchalantly back down.
Late-winter light bedazzles a corner of the kitchen (below).
