"You can get your Marc Jacobs designer tee shirt at Friends of Hillary for only a $55 contribution. And, each shirt comes with a specially-produced 'I Hillary' tag sewn inside."
"Terrible news is on its way," sighs fashion hound Yale Diva:
Marc Jacobs makes Hillary Clinton tee shirts (long sleeved for you, boys). And the kicker? All the proceeds go to Hil's reelection campaign. That's the injury. The insult? They're cute!
Order forms are now up at the Senator's re-election account website, Friends of Hillary, whose relentlessly upbeat copy gushes
Marc Jacobs -- top international clothing designer and proud New Yorker -- has designed a special edition "Hillary Graphic Tee" exclusively for the Senator and her friends! Robert Duffy, President of Marc Jacobs International, LLC explained the motivation for the project this way: "Senator Clinton is smart, compassionate, fair, and knows how to work with everyone in the interest of getting things done. She is the type of person I would like to have leading New York into the future!"
Yes. She does know how to work with everyone: Do it my way, and we'll get along just fine.
Even as the National Republican Senatorial Committee mounts a "Stop Hillary Now!" campaign, Sen. Clinton continues to insist she's not running for president, but Eliza Newlin Carne's "Hillary Inc." published last October in the National Journal suggests otherwise:
Clinton's colleagues are watching -- and emulating -- her grassroots fundraising techniques. The 2002 campaign finance law has unquestionably drained the major party committees of both cash and influence. The new power centers are now outside interest groups and individual officeholders, such as Clinton, who can motivate low-dollar donors by virtue of their ideological appeal or their celebrity. With its vast staff, budget, and campaign coffers, Clinton's political organization has begun to assume a quasi-party status.
