Beantown's Tax Day Tea Party Wednesday morning is crossing the street. Originally planned for the limited area immediately in front of the Taxachusetts State House on Beacon Street, the event will now spread out onto the tree-lined paths and grassy expanses of historic Boston Common on the hillside sloping down from the State House [see image above]. Founded in 1634, the Common is one of the nation's oldest city parks, anchor of the The Hub's lungs-of-the-city "Emerald Necklace."
Googling the rich history of this venerable urban amenity, we were delighted with the symbolism of its having been the site of public hangings in earlier centuries. While it may be true that you "Give a thief rope enough, and he'll hang himself," the forgotten man is eager and willing to give the rascals an assist.

Way to go! Will be thinking of you on my childhood stomping grounds (we used to walk every day to the Public Gardens and feed the ducks before we knew bread was bad for them, and ride the swan boats). Looking forward to the pictures!
