The Babe espies an intruder along the catwalk atop the retaining wall behind the house.

Outside, Tiny already has the jet-black interloper at bay.

Usually at each other's throats, furmen Tiny and Baby form a multitude when a foreigner invades the homeland.

Kind of cute . . . Downright adorable, in fact . . . But we know whose side we are on in these turf wars.

Don't tread on me, says Tiny's body language.

Update: "I love your latest post!!" emails our imail correspondent, reiterating the logic of tooth and claw:

The inscrutable and massive Sam would doubtless weigh (considerably) in on the side of the Babe and Tiny - for some odd reason he is most hostile to black cats! And in the fluffy department, he's definitely on a par with your two beauties! I'm having to comb him twice per day right now, so grievously does he shed! With what I glean on a daily basis, I could knit myself another cat!
