Stumble It!
In the anxious predawn moments of the countdown to breakfast on this shortest day of the year, the devil finds work for idle paws. Just after we photographed him pausing atop a chair in the studio (above), Baby suddenly bolted to the floor and mounted a surprise attack on the lower boughs of the tree:
The assault was so brief -- a surgical strike -- that our camera caught only a blur (above) before the crazed animal dashed off to parts unknown. The tree sustained no injuries.
