"This pathetic excuse for a web-log"
"Who could possibly bother reading this pathetic excuse for a web-blog," writes Peeps PR gal Martha re this blog. She's upset about our recent post mocking the false sentiment of an email she sent us the other day re our Sweet Potato aux Peeps recipe, blogged here, which she finds "mediocre at best." They aren't making PR people like they used to:
I doubt you will take the time to allow me to respond, because it looks like this is solely about your notoriety, and you probably don’t care who you hurt along the way.
I did take the time to look at your recipe and trust me; [sic] it's mediocre at best. I mean, you opened a package of PEEPS and put them on a pie. I've seen this and heard of this hundreds of times each and every holiday. Big deal! Please get over yourself.
Well, why didn't say so in the first place? It's the truth and straight talking we're after here. 'Guess we were right about the insincerity of that form letter.
Update: Re "You opened a package of PEEPS and put them on a pie . . . Big deal!" this PR genius missed one point: We BOUGHT a package of PEEPS and paid her salary. Our sis, a professional customer-service type, says we should notify management at once.

Well all this over sugar. Please, let's not involve the malted milk balls, I couldn't bear to ban them from my barn as well.
Love you aunt sissy

Martha sounds like a sick puppy masquerading as a member of the PR staff.

It doesn't hurt to be nice, especially when you are being paid to be nice.

What is the reason that these people are paid so well?

Martha may not have wished to have her comments seen by the nearly 300,000 folks who've visited this blog.
Management must, unfortunatly, constantly oversee the "PR" staff, as they do seem, the staff, to have a problem understanding their function.

My question would be - did this email come from her company email address? If so, then her management should certainly be informed (as I note you did in a later post - but I'm behind in my reading *grin*). And if it's from her company address - then she should be ashamed of herself. (unless of course she showed it to a collegue who took it upon themselves to send you this distasteful email without her knowledge...) Ah well, I'm not a fan of Peeps anyhow. LOL.
