"Monitor screen yellow," we Googled and quickly came up with the solution to a recent yellowing of our screen image: a loose connection. A fellow sufferer out in cyberspace had queried about.com complaining that "It was not always like this, but it becomes more and more serious, about 90% of the time, some time it switches back to normal color but most of the time I got this antique yellow, it was very tired to watch the screen." The solution, from Werner in the Netherlands:
If your monitor sometimes gives normal color, then that could indicate that your cable (between PC and monitor) or plug is broken.
We jiggled the monitor cable where it plugs into the computer, and that was all it took: Our whites are white, and our brights are bright again!

A pinched or loose wire can also lead to "pink screen syndrome," a problem that afflicts some iBooks and Powerbooks.

They're just like us. They need their juice.

Hold on, I had this problem too.
However, as it got worse and worse, it eventually got to the point that the screen got all staticy and grey, and also the music I was listening to got buffered. Is this also due to the plug?

I had the same yellow tinted screen and even my network guy thought it was a virus.
I pulled my hard drive out from the cabinet about one inch and it fixed, so it was just a wire / connection.
Thanks!

I am so relieved that it was something simple!
In my case, it seemed to coincide with the installation of a graphics card and a video capture card as well, so naturally I assumed that might have something to do with it. But that was not the case at all!
Seems as if there is a broken wire inside the cable near the connector at the monitor end. The connector is firmly connected to the computer, but when lifting the cable up, caused the monitor to flicker back to white! No more yellowish tinge! So a couple of zip ties later and now it's a permanent fix!
I have been all day working on fixing some other computer issues, so to find a nice simple fix to this I am truly overjoyed! lol!
Cheers!
