Blogger extraordinaire Jeff Jarvis breaks through the glass ceiling.
WICKED COOL. The blogosphere's own Jeff Jarvis is on with Brigitte Quinn of FOXNews commenting on CBS's firing of Bush-bashing producer Mary Mapes, recommendation that three others leave and letting Dan Rather remain floundering in place:
The blogs have gained a new respect. The bloggers are read in network newsrooms. Bloggers are just like a bar. We are all critical. There was a lot of buck passing here. Dan Rather should say whether he likes George Bush or not. It's a lie by omission. I think network newscasts will become smaller and smaller, and they will be marginalized.
Adds Bob Zelnick, chairman of the Department of Journalism at Boston University:
I still think there are more shoes to fall in the case of Rather.
Let the shoes fall where they may.
Update: A Buzzalanche. Good stuff.
