Brit Hume: "Bush is on the cusp"
1 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2004. Ohio goes for GW bigtime, assuring the president at least 274 electoral votes, and Drudge calls the race. Thank you, darling Mabs and Peter! Republicans retain control of Congress, gaining seats in both the House and Senate.
Brit Hume at the oh-so-catious FOXNews continues to pretend he doesn't know what he knows.
Update: Michele of A Small Victory catches the pulse:
Brit Hume's monotone reporting is about to knock me into a coma. I can't change the channel, because this is the station I'm monitoring for Command Post.
These guys are scared to death to make a close call. The ghost of 2000 is hanging around the newsroom, making Hume and company crap their pants every time they have to make a projection.
Update II: We agree -- first time ever -- with James Carville of CNN [via Ann Althouse at InstaPundit]:
REALITY IS HERE, and I think we've got to give the President and his team a lot of credit . . . They've won it.

Can you honestly look Carville in the face and not think of scabby, deranged lab monkeys set loose?
Not me.
I'm so glad it's over! :)
