This goose is cooked
How do you ask a goose to be the last goose to die in a John Kerry hunting photo op -- How do you ask a goose to be the last goose to die for a mistake?*
Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said he bagged a goose on his swing-state hunting trip Thursday, but his real target was the voters who may harbor doubts about him.
Not everyone's game, of course:
But officials with Ohio Sportsmen for Bush and the National Rifle Association, who recently endorsed President Bush's re-election bid, aren't buying it.
*At a jammed Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on April 23, 1971, Kerry took his case to Congress. In a room crammed with television cameras, Kerry, dressed in green fatigues decorated with a Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Heart ribbons, gave testimony that defined him and made possible his political career.
In a political style reminiscent of John Kennedy's memorable "ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." Kerry asked, "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam -- How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?"
