My big, fat DNC post

Some of the best and brightest of our fellow bloggers are in the belly of the beast -- InstaPundit as always is information central -- but we are keeping our distance. We walked down to East Boston with our camera and binoculars. Coast Guard helicopters and Avon-type craft were in evidence. At one point we heard sirens. Tried to spot Steve Doocy of FOXNews over at Rowe's Wharf, but to no avail.
Not to be outdone, however, we do want to quote from our local rag that our burg, "3.5 miles from DNC headquarters at the FleetCenter . . . is so prepared, in fact, that the city's emergency operations center (EOC) is being used as a headquarters for other towns during the convention." Said Allan Alpert, the city's director of emergency management:
Chelsea will help coordinate the Metro Fire coalition, a group of 34 communities with mutual aid agreements that is normally run out of Boston. And on the police side, Chelsea's EOC will serve as an organization center for Revere, Everett, Malden, Winthrop and Saugus.
"We're going to have operating on a regional scale what this facility was set up for, and that's an Emergency Operations Center," Alpert said.
Okay, two things, similar to the gut feelings of that poor woman, Annie Jacobsen -- trashed by so many last week but championed by Michelle Malkin -- the gal who thought she detected terrorists doing a dry run on her flight from Detroit to Los Angeles.
One. Last week, on our daily hour-long walkies, we noticed that the normal complement of cars parked along the sides of the residential streets of our city was missing. There is a significant Muslim population in this all-immigrants-all-the-time metropolis. (Our paranoid twin was whispering in our ear Osama's warning to European Muslims to get out of town, while our sensible twin said it was just get-your-car-off-the-street Friday street cleaning day.)
Two. At the end of walkies the other day, we noticed a chanting mullah (Calm yourself -- ed) in a local park. We actually called the Boston FBI, but they pointed out if we had no names or addresses, there was little they could do.
Democrats today, Islamacists tomorrow. It's no fun having the barbarians at the gate.
